Midnight and Weekend Oil

Thought I would do a short update while I am sitting here finishing music up for the morning.

There is a lot going on at work, which means not much going on anywhere else for me. It really has been a tough year. To put it into perspective how much I have worked this year, I still have most of my vacation left and have to use it by the end of the year or lose it, I have only golfed about 1/4 the amount I did last year, I worked outside for a week or two at the beginning of the year and have barely touched it since - I have not done ANYTHING this year.

Ok, so we did manage to do one thing. Last week was our anniversary, so we headed up to Glacier for a mini-vacation. We stayed in a yurt that Rodd and Megan recommended. It was a great place and VERY affordable ($45 a night, and they gave us a discount), but too close to the highway (noise). It was a bummer to get sick the day before we left, so I was pretty sick most of the weekend and spent a lot of time in the bathroom. ): I felt so good the day we were leaving that I drug everyone back up the mountain for one more hike, and it was well worth it - we found a small trail all of the kids and prego Mommy could do that was very private and beautiful. I guess Lance got pretty sick this weekend with the same "crap" I had (pun intended), sorry man!

Now I am getting ready to take off on another trip, this time for work. Headed to our Michigan plant until Saturday. It will be a lot of work and some very long days. I guess I am getting used to it though. Put in some long days this week and worked the weekend, and was called in the middle of the night last night. It has been a rough week.

There is nothing but bad news right now at work. I am thankful for my job no matter how hard it gets, but it is certainly not good times right now. I have been assured that the situation is very serious and worse than 2008 when we went through a similar thing. I have to be careful how much I say, but in the end, it is unfortunate that we have come to this place and will now see some tough times ahead of us when it could have been avoided with better management. I think they will come out of it, but not without some drastic measures that are very unfortunate.

Looking forward to music in the morning, I have been out the last two weeks, and probably again next week. It will be refreshing to join the team again!

I guess that is it for now, I need to go spend some time with my wife now that the kids are in bed. Too much working and a trip around the corner - "Where did Daddy go? He is never here anymore!" ):
